PETITE AMIE (Mexico City)
“Petite Amie is a psychedelic pop-rock band from Mexico City. Their music is characterized by sweet vocals from the two vocalists, who sing in French and Spanish, acoustic guitars, enveloping synthesizers, fuzzy guitar solos and prominent drums. As such, the band fluctuates between different genres, based on psychedelic pop-rock. Their main influences include classics such as the Beatles, Pink Floyd, and more recent sounds such as Big Thief, Magic Potion, Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Crumb”
All the way from San Antonio, Tejas:
Los Juanos! The new Indie-tejano is something you’ve never heard, and we are sure you will love
Los Juanos are carving an unprecedented path with their Indie/Alternative-Regional Mexicano. The San Antonio based group consists of members Baldemar Esquivel III, Miguel Jaime “Werito” Guzman, Mel Sanchez, Eddie Longoria, Richard “Nebyula Dreamz / R!ch Boy” Ramírez and Frank Tovar. Blending rhythms, styles and genres taking equally from old and new, from Mexican and American traditions, Los Juanos’ music is a representation of the people that make it, algo ni de aquí, ni de allá. Liberally interweaving Conjunto, Corrido, and Cumbia Norteña with elements of Dream Pop, Psychedelic, Punk and more, Los Juanos echo the pioneers of the Tejano movement, characterized by an unfiltered creativity and an even more daring disregard for the cultural barriers that cut through la frontera. While this sound may share roots with Latin Indie and Bedroom Pop acts or the modern Corrido and Sireño movements, Los Juanos’ home of San Antonio, Texas has given them a wholly distinct and culturally important identity, a sound primed to be heard on a broader scale.
